Dear Parents and Students,
"I promise to do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people, and to obey the Law of the Pack" has been recited by Cub Scouts for over eighty years. Cub Scouting began in America back in 1930 and continues today with its basic goals for boys:
- Influencing the development of the boy's character and spiritual life.
- Developing habits and attitudes of good citizenship.
- Encouraging good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body.
- Improving understanding within the family.
- Strengthening the ability to get along with other boys and respect other people.
- Fostering a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills.
- Showing how to be helpful and to do one's best.
- Providing fun and exciting new things to do.
- Preparing Cub Scouts to become Boy Scouts.
As you can see, the Cub Scouting program is geared to the growing abilities and changing interests of today's boy. Join your son as he embarks on Cub Scouting and share in his experiences that will build on his foundation to become a young adult.
